Here’s your daily stimulus check, your second stimulus check, your executive action, executive order, memorandums, moratoriums, and stimulus package update for Thursday, December 24th, 2020.

Legislators from the great state of Pennsylvania are pushing for President Trump to sign the $900 billion stimulus bill into law.

Senator Pat Browne explained: “What’s before [Mr. Trump] will provide a tremendous service to those in need in our communities and he should sign it.”

With all of the delays in Congress, Browne stated that they must act to help Pennsylvanians with much-needed stimulus funds, saying: “The bottom line is, that is our responsibility.”

Governor Tom Wolfe explained: “Now, as our commonwealth and our nation face an unprecedented surge, this new aid package is a necessary step toward meeting the needs of our people and helping Pennsylvania families and businesses survive the upheaval caused by this dangerous virus.”

I completely agree that these stimulus items are long overdue, and hopefully, we can see a bill signed into law in the coming days to deliver us our much-needed disaster relief funds.

Meanwhile, the new $900 billion stimulus package provides an update to the CARES Act direct payments and offers a new group of Americans eligibility to receive a stimulus check.

According to CNBC, “families who have mixed immigration status, meaning one spouse who is an immigrant, will receive the payments.”

Thomas Saenz, president and general counsel of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, explained: “At times of great crisis, our nation should come together in unity to recognize the shared sacrifice and mutual challenge.”

He continued: “The CARES Act regrettably did the opposite, by singling out for exclusion some of the families who have faced the worst hardship.”

This is great news for these Americans that did not receive their first round of stimulus checks, and hopefully, we’ll see these direct payments hitting our bank accounts soon.

Finally, we talked yesterday about President Trump and the Democrats fighting to offer $2,000 stimulus checks in the upcoming Phase 4 disaster relief bill, and now the Republicans have responded to the proposal with a resounding NO.

But while the Republicans blocked the $2,000 stimulus check proposal earlier today, leading Democrats are still pushing to offer 2K to all eligible Americans.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi explained: “On Monday, I will bring the House back to session where we will hold a recorded vote on our stand-alone bill to increase economic impact payments to $2,000. To vote against this bill is to deny the financial hardship that families face and to deny them the relief they need.”

She continued: “Hopefully by then the President will have already signed the bipartisan and bicameral legislation to keep the government open and to deliver coronavirus relief.”

With President Trump threatening to veto the $900 billion disaster relief bill, y’all better stay tuned to this channel for all of the latest updates on these constantly changing stimulus negotiations through the Christmas weekend.
