Here’s your daily stimulus check, your second stimulus check, your third stimulus check, your executive actions, executive orders, and stimulus package update for Friday, February 19th, 2021.
Indiana is set to launch a new rental assistance program with $448 million in federal funds.
Indiana officials announced this week that a new emergency rental assistance and utility/home energy assistance fund will launch with the help of nearly $448 million from the new relief bill.
When the new emergency rental assistance program launches, any renter household in Indiana should consider applying if they have been impacted.
Eligible households can receive up to 12 months of rental assistance and utility/home energy assistance.
The state is still waiting for the Housing and Community Development Authority for further guidance to begin accepting applications.
Up next, Presiden Biden on Wednesday afternoon met with a group of labor leaders he described as “close friends” to discuss his $1.9 trillion relief plan.
Many of those labor leaders have real sway with Mr. Biden and have been expected to press him on his plan to replace lost energy jobs.
White House Press secretary Jen Psaki said “that central to the meeting would be the president’s “desire to create good-paying union jobs” and that Mr. Biden believed a clean energy plan and new union jobs could simultaneously happen.”
Psaki has also indicated that the President views infrastructure as “one of the areas where there’s opportunity to work together” with Republicans.
While we wait further on Congress to pass another stimulus bill, it is important to note what the President will continue to do to help the economy and get our jobs back after stimulus.
And finally, the House aims to pass its $1.9 trillion relief plan before the end of February as Democrats race to beat a deadline to extend a key unemployment program.
