WOW! $10,000 UNEMPLOYMENT Tax Benefits Unemployment Extension SSI Stimulus Update PUA $300 FPUC
Happy Thursday, which means we have to talk about the state of the US economy and unemployment numbers in this week’s jobs report from the Department of Labor (DOL).
Unfortunately, this week’s jobs report showed poor news for the economy, as the actual unemployment figures were higher than last week, and were well below the estimates of the economists from the DOW Jones.
The weekly report showed that 770,000 Americans filed their first-time unemployment claims, which is higher than the previous week’s 725,000 revised initial claims.
These numbers are also below the 700,000 first-time claims predicted by economists, which was off by a whopping 70,000 initial unemployment claims.
Hopefully, we can start to see these numbers heading in the downward direction, as more Americans get the vaccine and get back to work with a fully recovered economy.
Meanwhile, the place that I call home, the great state of Nevada, recently offered a warning to unemployment claimants that are taking advantage of the system by “double-dipping.”
