What They Don’t Tell You About Owning a Tesla (Advice From a Tesla Owner)

I recently joined the Tesla family, buying one of my very own and, honestly, it is a great car. Is it a learning curve, though? Well, this Tesla is the first vehicle I’ve owned in 14 years and, trust me, it’s a new experience altogether — for better and for worse.

You might be reading this because you’re thinking of owning a Tesla yourself. That’s great, I would definitely recommend it — but only if you fully understand the “ride” you’re in for. Because, while they are great cars, there are just some things nobody tells you.

So, yeah, there’s a bit of a learning curve. Let me explain…

First of all, you NEED to charge it at home…

Yes, there are superchargers and places to plug your Tesla in around any given city, but think about this for a second: charging a Tesla with a supercharger usually takes around 15 minutes, which doesn’t sound too bad… until you start to count the seconds in your head.

Do you really want to sit around waiting for your car to charge two or three times a week? You’re sitting around in a public place waiting for a line of people in front of you to charge theirs as well. Remember, that’s 15 minutes each. Multiply that by the number of Tesla’s in front of you.
