Millions of people in California could soon get their unemployment benefits restored as the Employment Development Department said it is ready to start offering benefits to those on PUA and PEUC.

According to ABC10, “the EDD said it will let people know by email, text, or mailed notices when they can certify for PUA or PEUC will be able to continue or open new claims starting on Monday.”

They also said this process will stretch over a two week period, meaning not everyone will be able to certify right away.

People who qualify for the benefits extension will also receive the new extra $300 Federal Additional Compensation (PAC) payments with their weekly benefits.

This is fantastic news for California residents and hope that they can continue to help their residents get payments quicker.

Up next, it is still unclear when Kentuckians will see payments resume from the unemployment programs recently extended as Kentucky offices released more information on Friday.

Kentuck officials have said they are still waiting on more federal guidance before resuming
