4th Stimulus Check Update + Unemployment Benefits
Among the proposals in President Biden’s American Families Plan is an indefinite extension of the expanded Obamacare subsidies originally passed in March.
Private insurance companies are expected to dole out $2.1 billion in rebates to more than 10.7 million policyholders this fall.
Yahoo News explains that this sum will be the second-highest amount ever issued under the Affordable Care Act after last year’s record-breaking $2.5 billion in refunds.
These rebates are coming through because a number of insurance companies failed to meet the ACA’s medical loss ratio in 2020.
By law, insurance companies have to start issuing these rebates to eligible consumers later this fall.
So many might be seeing a possible more stimulus this year.
Meanwhile, Warren Buffett praised the economy at Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting, saying it has been “resurrected” after a heavy blow last year.
Buffet said 85 percent of the economy is in “super-high gear” and the stimulus “did the job.”
