OVER HALF AMERICA! Unemployment Benefits Extension NEW UPDATE FPUC PUA FPCU $300 Unemployment SSI
Happy Thursday, which means it’s time to talk about the current state of the US economy and unemployment rates across America in this week’s jobs report from our friends at the Department of Labor.
Unfortunately, this week’s jobs report displayed mediocre news for the economy, as the actual unemployment figures were higher than last week’s record-breaking numbers, and underperformed the estimates of those economists at the DOW Jones.
The weekly report showed that 412,000 Americans filed their first-time unemployment claims, which is higher than the previous week’s 375,000 revised initial claims.
They were also above the 360,000 first-time claims predicted by the economists.
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell explained: “Factors related to the pandemic should wane in coming months against a backdrop of rising vaccinations leading to more rapid gains in employment.”
While we hate to see the weekly unemployment figures going up and breaking the 6-week streak, at least they were in the same ballpark as last week’s figures and are poised to bounce back next week.
