Here’s your daily stimulus check, your second stimulus check, your executive action, executive order, memorandums, moratoriums, and stimulus package update for Wednesday, December 16th, 2020.

The Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett, recently made some comments about what he would like to see in a Phase 4 disaster relief bill.

Always the businessman, Buffett explained: “I think the country owes it to the millions of small-business people. Just renew the PPP and get us to the end of the tunnel.”

When asked about the potential fraud in another stimulus package with funding for small businesses, Buffett stated: “There will be fraud connected to do it. If you try to do something huge like that. You’ll read stories about people … that happens in war time. Don’t let that turn you away from something where millions of people are being helped.”

I completely agree with Buffett, as we’re all struggling right now and need to get stimulus funds to the millions of Americans and ask questions later.

Meanwhile, an unlikely bromance has formed in the Senate, as Republican Senator Josh Hawley is teaming up with Democrat Bernie Sanders to fight for more $1,200 stimulus checks for struggling Americans.

I talked about Bernie’s thoughts on the new stimulus package yesterday, and now it seems like these Senators from opposing parties are working towards getting another round of stimulus into bank accounts soon.

Following Sanders watching Hawley express interest for more stimulus checks, Hawley stated: “Sen. Sanders alerted us that he had seen my announcement. He alerted us that he wanted to try to attach something to the CR [continuing resolution]. Asked if that was something I would be amenable to … and I said sure.”

When asked about the pairing of Senators from differing parties, Hawley explained: “Hey, as I’ve said, I’ll work with anybody. … It is an absolute mystery to me why this is not in” a bipartisan proposal Congress is getting close to a $900 billion relief deal and could announce it as soon as possible.

Congressional leaders are finally indicating they’re nearing a deal on a new rescue package that could pass both chambers within days.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy met yesterday, and got the ball rolling on negotiations on the much needed disaster relief bill

The deal is expected to include a new round of stimulus checks, but no money for state and local aid, a priority Democrats had pushed for, and no lawsuit protections, which Republicans wanted.

According to NBC News, the measure being developed by congressional leaders will contain stimulus checks to individuals which could come out to about $600 per person.

It’s great to see all sides talking about passing another stimulus package, and we could see a complete, bipartisan disaster relief bill at any moment.
