Unemployment Benefit Stimulus Update
In the great state of Ohio, unemployment fraud has been a major problem, with some fraudsters even using the Governor’s personal information to try and steal unemployment benefits.
Governor Mike DeWine, First Lady Fran DeWine, and Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted all had fraudulent unemployment claims filed in their names, which were immediately flagged for potential fraud.
DeWine explained: “We weren’t sure exactly what anyone is trying to accomplish there, with us, but we know that there’s a been a lot of those (scams).”
Husted stated: “We’re getting a lot of it right now. It’s made the job of getting legitimate benefits out to people harder, and (we’re) doing everything that we can do to protect against losing any tax dollars out there to people who are filing false claims.”
As y’all know, every state is dealing with massive amounts of unemployment fraud, and I just hope that their efforts to combat scams do not interfere with getting you the unemployment funds you deserve.
