New EBT Programs Set to Begin This Summer
Guys, let’s talk about something new and something kind of special. We’re not talking about just stimulus money today, folks, but a load of other benefits, like free school meals, summer pandemic EBT, and a few other things.
Starting August of this year, the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) will go back to using their old system. Students will be able to apply for free or reduced lunch.
On top of that, EBT recipients have even more to look forward to. There will be a summertime pandemic EBT.
Feel free to submit your application before the school year ends. You have until May, I believe. This will prevent you from having to pay for ANY of the school meals next year when these changes take effect.
Also, by applying, you’ll probably be eligible for that summertime EBT as well. You will not be able to submit an application after the school year has already ended. Again, that’s in May… I think. In some places it’s June.
However much your state’s EBT is participating in this program is entirely up to the state. Georgia, along with a few other states, have not yet opted in so we won’t know how much money they’re pouring into this.
