As technological advancement continued for office software in 1999, Microsoft Office 2000 was first introduced reaching the shelves of some of the largest retail office supply stores, such as OfficeMax, Staples, and Office Depot.

PC users were excited for the opportunity to introduce Microsoft software where they have access to all Office applications to increase productivity.

Microsoft stated in July of 1999, “Many major corporations also have chosen Office 2000, citing the needs to reduce costs and end-user downtime as well as increase productivity.” Those corporations at the time included the University of Texas, J.D. Edwards, and Credit Suisse stated Microsoft.

As it was gaining worldwide traction and people were flocking to supply stores, one face greeted excited customers as they upgraded to Microsoft Office 2000.
