This is a darker topic that many of us probably don’t like talking about, yet it weighs on our minds very heavily: are we preparing our families for life once we die? It’s a good idea to think about this and get it squared away so that you can actually enjoy your life without worrying about it.

Let’s talk about it…

Write a Will

Without a will, there’s no way. So many Americans don’t have one and they leave their family scrambling to figure out where your assets are going. Your kids could be left out of your estate entirely or not getting the money you wanted them to get.

Work with your attorney to get your will put together.

Get Your Life Insurance Together

Look at your life insurance plan (hopefully you have one) and see if it will sufficiently take care of your family once you expire. A good life insurance policy covers 10 times your annual salary. This is vital if you’re the primary bread-winner.

It’s also vital while preparing your estate to make sure that your beneficiaries are accurate and up to date.

Keep Everything Organized

It isn’t fair to leave your family to clean up your mess after you die. Make sure that all your paperwork is all organized and easy…
