Happy Thursday, which means it’s time to talk about the latest details of the US economy and unemployment numbers in this week’s jobs report from our friends over at the Department of Labor (DOL).

This week’s jobs report displayed not the greatest news for the economy, as the actual unemployment figures were higher than last week, and underperformed the estimates of the economists from the DOW Jones.

The weekly report showed that 744,000 Americans filed their first-time unemployment claims, which is higher than the previous week’s 728,000 revised initial claims and are also above the 694,000 first time claims predicted by economists.
