Here’s your PPP loan, EIDL, and Small Business Grant Update for Sunday, January 24th, 2021

But first, a Nevada man has recently been charged with fraudulently obtaining nearly $2 million in federal PPP money meant for struggling businesses.

The man allegedly applied for PPP funds between April and June 2020 to at least seven banks using a variety of company names.

According to the complaint, the man “misrepresented the number of employees and the amount of revenue and payroll his companies had.”

Investigators found out quickly that the man was instead using the PPP funds on himself to purchase luxury vehicles and to purchase two luxury condominiums.

This is just another example of people taking advantage that prevents others from actually receiving help.

Meanwhile, small businesses in California that took a financial hit will soon be able to apply for more state grant money as part of a $475 million dollar program.

The California Small Business Relief Grant Program will award eligible businesses grants of up to $25,000.
