Here’s your daily stimulus check, your second stimulus check, your third stimulus check, your fourth stimulus check, executive actions, executive orders, and stimulus package update for Saturday, April 24th, 2021.

Santa Barbara Supervisors voted to increase the amount of rental assistance being provided to 100 percent.

That assistance will span to a 15 month period.

Laura Bode, head of the Santa Barbara Rental Property Association exclaimed, “We are the only place in California to do this; we are the only place in the country to do this.”

Before, the maximum amount of rental assistance available to applicants had been $6,000 and 80 percent of the amount owed, with the tenant to pay the remainder.

Bode stated, “after the eviction moratorium on evictions expires June 30th, tenants will be on the hook for whatever unpaid rent they still owe.”

She said the new rental support administered will prevent what otherwise could become a tidal wave of evictions.

Meanwhile, state lawmakers in New York are deciding over legislation that would keep bill collectors from taking federal stimulus checks to pay for past-due bills.
