Watch Stimulus

Here’s your daily stimulus check, your second stimulus check, your executive action, executive order, memorandums, moratoriums, and stimulus package update for Tuesday, January 5th, 2021.

The IRS recently announced that you could be receiving your $600 stimulus check in a different fashion than you obtained your initial $1,200 direct payment.

The IRS explained: “some people who received a paper check last time might receive a debit card this time, and some people who received a debit card last time may receive a paper check.”

IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig stated: “We are working swiftly to distribute this second round of payments as quickly as possible. This work continues throughout the holidays and into the new year as we prepare for the upcoming filing season.”

He continued: “We urge everyone to visit IRS.gov in the coming days for the latest information on these payments and for important information and assistance with filing their 2021 taxes.”

If you’re still waiting on your $600 stimulus check, make sure to look at your bank account or keep your eyes out for a paper check in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Americans that filed their taxes using populare tax programs H&R Block and TurboTax are extremely upset, as many customers have still not received their $600 stimulus checks.

A TurboTax spokesman explained: “We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and that everyone is anxious to get their money. We are partnering with the IRS to help taxpayers receive their payments as quickly as possible.”

According to a TurboTax FAQ: “If someone’s Turbo Visa Debit Card account was closed or inactive, the bank will return the stimulus money.”

With H&R Block experiencing similar problems, I just hope that these popular tax programs can finally deliver the much needed $600 stimulus checks to the struggling Americans that need these funds as soon as possible.

Finally, we’re still waiting on the official tally from the Georgia runoff vote yesterday, but it’s looking like the Dems could even the score in the Senate to 50–50, allowing VP Kamala Harris to break the tie for further stimulus measures like $2,000 stimulus checks.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer explained: “America is experiencing one of the greatest crises we have ever faced, and the Senate Democratic majority is committed to delivering the bold change and help Americans need and demand. Senate Democrats know America is hurting — help is on the way.”

President Elect Joe Biden also offered encouragement about $2,000 stimulus checks, stating: “Their election will put an end to the block in Washington — that $2000 stimulus check — that money would go out the door immediately, to help people who are in real trouble. Think about what it will mean to your lives — putting food on the table, paying rent.”

One of the winners of yesterday’s runoff election, Raphael Warnock, said: “People need relief. We ought to pass a $2,000 stimulus.”

This all sounds like great news for the prospects of another stimulus check for $2,000, and I just hope that they can deliver us these much needed disaster relief funds soon.
