The IRS announced that the misdirected stimulus payments are finally reaching taxpayers after they were sent to temporary accounts.

The IRS issued a statement on Friday, “IRS tax industry partners are taking steps to redirect stimulus payments to the correct taxpayer account for as many people as possible.”

Intuit, the company that makes TurboTax, indicated on Twitter that the money was being sent to TurboTax users whose payments were initially misdirected to temporary accounts used by the company.

They also blamed the IRS for the mistake, which has delayed delivery for more than a week in some cases.

Intuit tweeted, “Stimulus payments will begin to be deposited today, Jan. 8th, for millions of our customers affected by the IRS error. We expect most of these payments to be available today, but banks could take a few more days to process.”
