While President Biden has not yet announced a widespread cancellation of student debt, colleges across America are using disaster relief stimulus funds to do just that.

According to Forbes: “Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina announced last week that it would be wiping out $286,500 in student debts owed directly to the school due to the pandemic.”

Other schools offering debt forgiveness for students impacted by the virus include Wilberforce University with over $375,000 in student debts, Delaware State University with more than $700,000, and Dartmouth College eliminating student loans for families earning $125,000 per year or less.

This is amazing news for millions of Americans stuck with student loans and debt, and I hope that other schools can use stimulus funds to help pay off student debts.

Meanwhile, a recent study that examined Census Bureau surveys found that the two latest rounds of stimulus checks significantly improved Americans’ ability to buy food, pay household bills, and even reduced anxiety and depression.
