A group of House Republicans is urging President Biden to end the federal extended enhanced unemployment benefits program ahead of its current September 6th deadline.

They explained in a letter: “Enhanced unemployment benefits and public school closures in certain states are weighing down an American economy trying to rebound from the pandemic.”

Fortunately, President Biden stated recently that he is not looking to end the unemployment funds early: “It’s going to expire in 90 days. That makes sense.”

I’m happy to see the President standing firm on his stance on unemployment benefits, as millions of Americans are still in desperate need of these vital government disaster relief funds.

Meanwhile, the great state of Pennsylvania finally rolled out their long-awaited, brand new unemployment system this week, improving a system that was 40 years old.

The system went live yesterday, and already more than 62,000 Pennsylvanians have successfully filed their unemployment claims using the new system.
