A recent study from GOBankingRates found some very interesting data on how nearly half of the USA spent their most recent $1,400 stimulus checks.

A whopping 45% of Americans explained that they used part of or all of their most recent round of $1,400 stimulus checks to pay necessary bills and debts.

The survey asked: “If you get a stimulus check, how will you use it?” and 45% used the third stimulus check to pay bills, with 12% spending it on food or other necessities and 9% used these disaster relief funds to pay rent or mortgage.

For those that did not need to spend their stimulus checks on essential costs, 19% put their stimulus check into savings, 9% invested the funds and 6% spent these disaster relief checks on nonessential purchases.

With so many struggling Americans using their stimulus checks to cover essential items instead of stimulating the economy, this study goes to show that millions of people are still in need of a fourth stimulus check and new disaster relief bill.

Meanwhile, political leaders in the great state of Massachusetts are currently discussing how they intend to use upwards of $5.3 billion in disaster relief funds.
